Peridot and Ludwigite necklace
Peridot and Ludwigite necklace
Handcrafted sterling silver pendant featuring rose-cut Peridot with natural Ludwigite inclusions.
What first drew me to this stone was the contrast between the fresh green Peridot and the delicate black Ludwigite inclusions suspended within it. Rather than distracting from the gemstone, these natural formations create intricate patterns that make each stone completely unique.
The Peridot has been rose-cut to catch the light beautifully, while a hollow-backed setting allows light to pass through the stone and illuminate its subtle green tones. The result is a pendant that rewards closer inspection, revealing new details each time it catches the light.
Suspended from an 18-inch sterling silver belcher chain, this is a piece for anyone who appreciates gemstones with individuality and character.

About the Gemstones
About the Gemstones
✨ Peridot is known for its beautiful green colour, but it's also one of the few gemstones known to have an extraterrestrial connection, having been discovered within meteorites. Its vibrant green tones earned it the nickname "The Gem of the Sun" among the Ancient Egyptians, while the Romans called it the "Emerald of the Night" because it seemed to retain its brilliance long after the sun had set. One of the few gemstones to occur in a single colour family, peridot remains one of the most distinctive and recognisable green gemstones found in nature.
✨ Ludwigite is a naturally occurring mineral inclusion sometimes found within quartz and other gemstones, appearing as delicate black needles or sprays suspended within the crystal. These striking formations were created as the host crystal grew, preserving a unique record of its geological history. No two patterns are ever identical. Some examples resemble fine brushstrokes, while others form dramatic starbursts or intricate networks within the stone. It is this natural artistry that makes ludwigite-bearing gemstones so fascinating and sought after by collectors.
