Cherry Blossom Silver Ring with Sapphire

Hand-forged Cherry Blossom ring; A commissioned piece, made as a 40th Birthday present from a husband to his wife. Their family has a strong connection to Japan so the design was inspired by the cherry blossom - A symbol of Love and affection.

The petals are hand cut and shaped from Silver sheet, the stamen made from wire and the setting formed from tube. The band begun as a twig from my garden and cast into silver to keep its natural shape and realistic texture. 

Set at the center is a light pink Sapphire, chosen for its soft tone and brightness. 

Each part made by hand, shaped and soldered in my home studio.
