A new look

A new look

Late August 2024, I decided to launch an online shop for my jewellery. After silversmithing for about two years, I finally felt confident that I'd honed my skills enough to start selling some pieces; after all, I couldn't keep them all however much I wanted to.

I chose Shopify as my platform and set up a quick, functional, no-frills theme. I've loved working with Shopify. It's made things incredibly easy, from seamless integrations to professional theming that helps add some trust and polish to my shop.

But running a small jewellery business isn't just about making jewellery. Over the past year, I've worn many hats - photographer, marketer, jeweller, software engineer, content writer. However, the one hat, I've never been able to wear comfortably is that of a Creative Director (Just look at the before!!). I'd managed to get a functional site up and running but I needed something more; a cohesive brand - a story that ties everything together and leaves a lasting impression.

Fortunately, I've worked in the design sector for an advertising agency before (think Mad Men) and happen to know an incredible Creative Director who would absolutely nail my vision. When I approached them, my brief was simple yet quite... specific:

"If my jewellery had a personality, it'd be a full-on ISTJ - your Dana Scullys, A Brienne of Tarth or Ned Stark".

That’s the energy I wanted my brand to embody: strong, grounded, and unwaveringly authentic. I imagined we’d brainstorm together, go back and forth on a few options, and refine the ideas over time. But when John showed me the first design, I was amazed; it was perfect. It captured the essence of everything I wanted.

From there, the process was all about refining the details and bringing it to life. Now, while my jewellery, brand name, and vision remain the same, some exciting changes have transformed how it’s presented:

  • A new look and feel for the website, logo, and color palette.
  • Updated packaging and printed materials to enhance the unboxing experience.
  • A more focused social media presence and consistent theme to better tell my story.

Take a look! Here's what to expect:

I can’t believe it’s finally here! I’m so excited to share it with you. Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to reflect not just my work, but the heart and soul behind it.

Let me know what you think in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
